Beginning on January 14th, 2025, vehicle gate keypads at San Carlos Airport will be removed, and all vehicle access will transition to cardkey only.
Pedestrian gates will follow shortly thereafter. Notices will be posted on pedestrian gates prior to keypad removal.
All airport tenants have received an email with the cardkey application and links to the training materials and quiz. Please complete the training and quiz and submit your photo to the airport office as soon as possible.
FAQ: Can my non-pilot family member have a cardkey?
Response: The first phase of the cardkey program is for pilots only. When complete, the airport administration can begin developing training for non-pilot family members.
Please contact airport staff with any questions at airport_cardkeys@smcgov.org.
