The photos shown below were originally taken by Stephen Bell in April 1966 when he was a flight instructor at San Carlos. Steve was kind enough to send along high resolution scans of these incredible images that show the area around San Carlos Airport. Take a close look. You can see Cooley Field, an airstrip that was located near the spot occupied by Town Place Suites. You can also see Redwood Shores before it was developed as well as the old sewage treatment plant that some of our members remember fondly.

Huge kudos to Steve for contributing these photos. A few years ago he sent in a collage that is part of our SQL history page. The new images provide an improved picture of what it was like at SQL.
